Watching people 'play' with the chip design tool for months or years makes me wonder how foolish they can really be.Ī fire would end all custom clay chips forever. Even then, it took some great honor on the part of Redbelly who acquired some chip making molds/cups and returning them to the rightful people, and group buys from people on PCF/CT to fund the repairs of molds like the FDL and the Scroll mold. Then we were saved by a true chip-o-phile (David) who convinced Jim to come out of retirement and make chips, while David would manage the business end. I just got both, decided on the majestic's for a tournament set, 1300 chips, 10K (30 buy-in & 8+ re-buys) at 12/12/5/6 and then I got 600 Royals for my cash set 1,2,25 & 100's, we play 1/1 after the tournament - can't wait for both sets to come in - June 8th is my next tournament. There were still some good sets in the ASM - Vegas days, but by and large the home clay market had died. Money - big money - was shipped and chips never received. Jim B of CPC (formerly ASM - Maine) had retired and sold the company to someone in Las Vegas that was largely incompetent.
Shortly before you came around, CPC was out of the home market, and those were truly dark days indeed.
